Answer:
Frankly, your resume is written poorly. I have seen it myself and that's
what I feel, on first instance. Please work on your resume, you should get
calls atleast. Remember, if you do not package your particulars properly,
there are others who will get the shortlisting. You may like to read my article
on this CareerAge site for writing your resume well.
You have been a merit scholar, and seem to be sharp and to the point,
but that does not help. Read the article, work on your resume.
Some quick tips: Start with your academic Qualification, go to work experience
(Current , in more detail, mention specific achievements, mention up-time
percentages, emphasize on preventive maintenance, talk in terms of commercial
savings and avoidance of potential losses due to possible breakdowns, talk
of standardization of equipment in order to control spares inventories, talk
of comfort with ERP packages, Vendor management. Do not mention permanent
address right at the top. That is what the reader of the resume is not looking
for.
Imagine doing a review of a person's potential in 10 seconds! You
will say, how can I do that. It will not be justice. Well, my dear, whether
you like it or not, the person who is reviewing your resume is most likely
going to spend only that much time, and no more. But you can influence him
or her to spend more time on your resume.
Make an ALL IMPORTANT summary on top of your resume. A Manager's role
is different from a Supervisor's or Technician's. Bring in aspects as mentioned
above. If this summary is interesting to the reader, s/he will go down and
read more of it, and also call for an interview to assess for himself or herself
the potential that you bring along with you, and find a good reason to hire
you.
If, s/he can not see that, from your resume, why should s/he spend more
that even the 10 seconds that s/he would feel that has been wasted on a candidate?
If you approach properly, with changes, I can bet you will succeed.
Your counsel. |
