Subject: Prospects of CA, CS and LLB?
Date: 28-Mar-2003
Question: Dear Sir/Madam,
I am pursuing my LLB course from the Government Law college Mumbai. I am in my second year and am performing quite well. I have finished my B.Com (hons) and am also pursuing the Company Secretary's course. I am now considering starting the CA course as well. Kindly suggest the prospects of CA, CS and LLB along with the expected starting pay. I have secured the 1st rank in the 3rd semester LLB exams at the mumbai university and have secured a CGPA of 4.34/5 in my B.Com (hons) programme. Considering these factors suggest whether my decision is correct. I am prima facie looking at a corporate job (legai in nature) but feel the CA degree will enhance my skills as well as pay please suggest. Thank you.
Answer: As per my knowledge goes starting salaries may range in 10 - 15 K for such professionals. CS alone may not make sense. You MUST do CA. You should look at Law only if you have enough interest and are willing to operate in the atmosphere that the courts work in.
